This is our first trip out in the Motorhome for the 2013 Season.
We are on our way to Bronte Creek Provincial Park where we will stay while we watch Karen’s Granddaughter “Alyssa” in her gymnastics competition. Rather than take the major highways, which would be quicker, we take the slower, more scenic route along the back roads.
It is early in the season, but we see a group of motorcyclists out enjoying the day.
During the winter season, CR-124 through Singhampton is usually the first road to be closed due to bad blowing snow conditions. This occurs so often that they have permanent signage installed and just turn on the flashing lights when the road is closed.
No snow today though as the road stretches out before us. Spring has not sprung yet. As you can see the trees are still bare.
The farmers have been busy, plowing and tilling the land getting it ready to plant the seeds.
I didn’t know that Karen had taken this photo of me driving until I looked at the photos to write this blog. I will have to be sure to get a photo of her driving (when and if that ever happens).
Saw this large barn mural and this large “whatever” piece of farm machinery.
We have now wandered our way through the countryside and have arrived in Erin Ontario.
Lots of small lakes and streams and well maintained farms are along both sides of the road.
We get slowed down in construction as we arrive in Milton Ontario.
Then a few minutes later we arrive at Bronte Creek Provincial Park.
We have a campsite reservation so we check in at the office.
We then continued on to our site #219
We got backed into our site and then started to do our setup. We are only here for the one night, so we are not going to put down our outdoor mats or get out the Weber Q bbq.
After getting all set up we went for a nice little walk through the campground. Saw lots of Trilliums. The Trillium is Ontario’s Provincial Flower.
There were also plenty of Dog Tooth Violets.
“Squirt” and “Dumbo” have a nice view out the front window.
They were watching this Red Wing Blackbird.
Tomorrow we will have to get up early and leave because we want to get to the Gymnasium parking lot before the events get started and get parked before all the cars full of participants and parents start arriving and then we probably wouldn’t get a spot to park the motorhome.
To see all of our photos from today, you can find them all on our FLICKR site.
