Today was a day of rest, we are here in Reno Nevada for a few days. It is a chance to relax and to do some laundry and get caught up on the blog and to finish uploading photos the the Flickr Site.
We did go out for lunch at IHOP and we shared a Hot Fudge Sundae for dessert.
We drove around a bit to find some of the old historic buildings that were associated with the Lincoln Highway as it ran through this town.
We found the Merry Wink Motel and the Ho Hum Motel.
We found the original arch that was over top of the Lincoln Highway. It has since been moved because the Lincoln was widened to 4 lanes and the arch was too narrow for the new street.
This is the new arch.
For dinner we went to The Olive Garden. We both saved room for desserts. Karen had the Torta di Chocolate and I had the White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake.
Tomorrow we are going to take a day trip from Reno to Lake Tahoe.
