First things first… I completely forgot yesterday to update my Visited Provinces Map… so here it is, a day late… ALBERTA.
Looks like we better start planning a summer vacation in Canada some year and start filling in those missing provinces.
So this morning we woke up and drove from Cochrane AB to Edmonton AB. We are going to visit The West Edmonton Mall today. They say this is the “Greatest Indoor Show on Earth”. More than 800 stores and services, more than 100 eating establishments and nine theme park attractions. Covering 48 city blocks.
Kind of puts our hometown Mountain View Mall to shame.
We parked and entered through entrance #57 I don’t know how many more entrances there are. All I know is that it is important to remember #57 or we will never find our car again. The first thing we saw was a life size replica of the “Santa Maria” Christopher Columbus’ flagship. The Santa Maria is docked at the world’s largest indoor lake.
Next up was the World Waterpark. - Surf’s always up at this tropical waterslide complex, home of the world’s biggest indoor wave pool.
Then we went to check out the Ice Palace – an NHL sized public ice rink.
There is a Baskin Robbins, but even at the worlds largest mall, this Baskin Robbins did not have Karen’s favourite flavour.
We wandered around in Galaxyland which is the planet’s largest indoor amusement park. Everything about this place is “biggest” “largest” “greatest” “tallest” etc etc…
Then it was time for the Sea Lion Show. Now I have seen a few sea lion shows before, but I must say that this one was the best of all.
It was then time for dinner at The Old Spaghetti Factory and then on to our hotel…
Oh yes, we found the car.
