We need a bit of a break from the heat and the crowds at the Calgary Stampede, so we stayed at the hotel today.
Had a late breakfast, worked on the blog, worked on photos, had lunch, had a nap. I have been having a very frustrating time with the internet and so at 4pm I decided that I would go over to Starbucks and try their free Wi-Fi.
As it turned out, the internet at Starbucks is no better than here at the hotel. I am pretty much convinced that the internet anywhere in Calgary must be over loaded. There must be 3 times the population here for the Stampede and I can only imagine that everyone is trying to use a limited system.
I have been struggling for days to get some videos uploaded but not having any success.
While I was at Starbucks, Karen went for a bit of a walk and took photos of the stores and restaurants that we frequent and that are all within a 10 minute walk from our hotel.
Here are just a few and the rest will be posted on
FLICKR as soon as I can get them uploaded.
The first photo is the Starbucks, all of the photos are self explanatory.
As you can see, there is a good selection of retail and restaurants just in this area.
Tomorrow we are heading back to the Stampede grounds.
To see all of the photos from today you can find them at this link to our
FLICKR site.
