We are going to move a little further East today, we are heading for the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
On our way out of Ashland WI we stop at a little park to take photos of the Ashland Breakwater Lighthouse.
It is not accessible so I have to use a steady hand and the zoom lens to get these photos. In the first photo, the lighthouse is that tiny white dot near the centre of the photo. Then I zoom in for the next 2 shots.
As we drive through Hurley Wisconsin we stop at another roadside attraction. We certainly are seeing our fair share of roadside attractions on this vacation. This is “The World’s Largest Corkscrew” Fittingly there is a liquor store on the property, and the owner has a large collection of corkscrews.
Very shortly afterwards, we cross the border into Michigan and stop at the visitor center to gather information for our stay in the Upper Peninsula area of Michigan.
There are small lakes on either side of us as we drive Eastward towards our nightly stop.
We stopped at Wal-Mart just outside of town and then arrived in Marquette Michigan at our hotel.
It was a short driving day, just long enough to re-position us into Michigan.
To see all of our photos from today, you can find them on our FLICKR site.
