Laurel Creek Conservation Area ON

We are making a habit of sleeping in each morning.  Had a wonderful breakfast and then watched each of the campers around us pack up and leave.
By 2 pm we have the whole place to ourselves.

We sit outside and watch as the squirrels and chipmunks scurry about looking for tidbits left by the vacating campers.  I am sure they are finding lots of tasty tidbits.

Then the wild turkeys started showing up.  I guess they are glad to see all the campers gone and have the park to roam freely in.

I lit a fire to get rid of the last few pieces of fire wood that we have.  I can’t take it home with me, it is against the law to transport fire wood out of or into different regions.  They are trying to stop the spread of bugs and beetles that destroy trees, so by not transporting it, we are helping to control the spread of the harmful bugs.

After dinner Karen left with or car to drive to her daughters.  She will be staying with her daughter and grandchildren for a week and I will pack up the motorhome tomorrow and head back home.

Here are some photos of the wide open space we have around our motorhome.

We will be back to travelling and blogging when we head to Heidi’s Campground a week from now.

To see the photos we took today, you can find them on our FLICKR site.
